Ashton Preservation Foundation donates to county foundation

Ashton Foundation makes donation

The Carroll County Foundation has received a generous financial contribution from the John H. and Evelyn L. Ashton Preservation Association.

A check for $40,000 has been presented to the Foundation to be used at the discretion of the Foundation's Board of Governors.

Speaking on behalf of the donor, Elaine Painting said the Preservation Association's Board of Directors decided to tithe locally and help the Carroll County Foundation.
The Foundation was establish
ed as a charitable entity in 1994 whose primary function was to build a permanent endowment for the entire county from which income can be used to make charitable, educational and scientific grants.

In response to the generous donation, the Foundation's president, Richard C. Hannon Jr. said:

"The Carroll County Foundation deeply appreciates the support of the Ashton Preservation Association and this generous contribution. The Aston's commitment to charity will benefit our community for many generations to come."

Information about grants, sources of funds and The Founders Story can be found on the Foundation's website at www.ccfoh.org. Downloadable forms to create a fund within the Foundation, establish a planned gift, and information about how to include the Foundation in estate plans can be found there also.

The Foundation considers applications for grants from its General Purpose Fund four times per year. Applications received by April 15, July 15, Oct. 15 and Jan. 15 will be reviewed at quarterly meetings held in May, August, November and February.
