Interested in earning cash for your metal recyclables? If so, a new Carrollton business is the place to visit.

Countryside Recycling opened earlier this month at 1236 Lincoln Ave. (across from the NAPA Distribution Center). Partners Kane Foltz and Brian Shuman said the business offers cash for any kind of metal recyclables ranging from small aluminum cans to entire vehicles.  "We not only buy cans and vehicles, we also purchase radiators, transmissions, engine blocks, rotors, aluminum wheels and car batteries," said Foltz.

Both men have a background in metal, automobiles and recycling which makes the business a perfect fit. Foltz previously worked with his wife, Leanna and her father, Carl Dayton, on their mobile recycling route. Foltz said he would run the route and pick up the metal recyclables. "I want to thank Leanna and Carl for everything they've done," Foltz said.

Brian, who was involved in the construction field as a drywall contractor for nearly 15 years, was also an avid motor sports participant. He has been involved in demolition derby competition for many years and in 2005 began his own company, Mangled Metal Productions. The company is sponsoring a demolition derby May 3 at the Carroll County Fairgrounds and Shuman said the recycling business will be purchasing catalytic coverters at the event.

"I know just about everyone around here involved in racing, demolition derby and other aspects of the automobile industry," Shuman said his wife, Mia, is volunteering her time as secretary for the business.

The partners are awaiting the arrival of a set of truck scales to weigh vehicles and a baler that will be used to bale up aluminum cans.  They are in the process of installing fence around the nearly four acre property and "We're excited about being a part of the community," said Foltz. "We are happy to offer the community a nice clean facility with top of the line service," added Shuman. "We want to get involved in community events and with sponsorship of local youth programs," Foltz noted.

The business is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a,m. until noon. Customers can call 330-627-8130 for the most up-to-date cash prices paid for materials.
