The death Friday of a third grader at Waynesburg elementary school has been determined as due to natural causes.
Nine-year-old Noah Malavite, son of Tim Malavite of East Sparta and Barbara Malavite of Magnolia, died about noon Friday at Akron Children’s Hospital where he was life flighted from Aultman Hospital in Canton after becoming ill earlier that morning at school. Full Story

A clarification is warranted in a story published in last week's issue regarding the school finances, building committee meeting held April 24 in the Carrollton school cafeteria.
The word "not" was inadvertently omitted from the sentence in a paragraph explaining what HB 264 can and cannot be used for. The sentence should have read: Full Story

New payment option implemented in Municipal Court |

The Carroll County Municipal Court has implemented a new credit card service.
According to Judge Charles A. Johnston, the service is being provided by VitalChek Network of Brentwood, TN., at no cost to the Court or county.
Individuals choosing to pay their fines, court costs or civil judgments may use MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards (no Visa). Checks are automatically printed for deposit the same day. Full Story
