FPS staff report
May 7, 2008
A clarification is warranted in a story published in last week's issue regarding the school finances, building committee meeting held April 24 in the Carrollton school cafeteria.
The word "not" was inadvertently omitted from the sentence in a paragraph explaining what HB 264 can and cannot be used for. The sentence should have read:
"If the school district takes advantage of HB 264 and borrows money at a low rate of interest, the funds can NOT be used for plumbing infrastructure, roofs and electrical improvements.
Rather, funds from HB 264 can be used for energy conservation, such as heating, windows and lights.
The comment was made by Mrs. Rose Kienzle, president of the Carrollton Board of Education, who conducted the meeting. |
