Rolling Petition' passes through Carrollton

American Cancer Society busThe "bus" was in the house.  Sorry, Steeler fans, not Jerome Bettis but the American Cancer Society (ACS) Cancer Action Network (CAN) Fight Back Express.  The bus, driver and staff spent the night at Carrollton Days Inn May 8 on their way from Steubenville to the Akron/Canton area. 

ACS CAN is sponsoring a nationwide bus tour with the goal of building a grassroots movement united in its mission to make cancer a top national priority.  The message is "If one person can battle cancer, a nation can rise up and defeat it." Full Story


Civic Club ready to cook

Carrollton Civic ClubThe Carrollton Civic Club's grill is undergoing some minor repairs and having a new roof installed and will soon be ready for use.

Club officials said the grill can be rented (complete with Civic Club grillers) for a variety of events, such as graduation parties, class reunions, wedding receptions, holiday parties, etc. The Civic Club will be using the grill at the Carroll County Ribs Burn-off June 7 and at the Rally in the Alley July 11. Residents invited to join May 21 walk

FPS staff report

Walking is one of the easiest and inexpensive exercises you can do.  The Carroll County Teen Leaders 4-H Club and the Carroll County 4-H Committee is sponsoring a One-Mile Fitness Walk May 21 from 5-6 p.m. at the Carroll County Fairgrounds.

The walk is being held in conjunction with the 4th annual Healthy Ohioans Statewide Fitness Walk.  All Ohioans are encouraged to participate to collectively walk a million miles this day. Full Story
