The All American Scales "Parade" kicks off Malvern Fire Department's annual homecoming festival June 11 at 6 p.m.
The festival begins at 5 p.m. June 11 and runs through June 15 at 7 p.m. Entertainment, food, community organizations displays and nightly ride passes will be available.
Parade entrants (not fire or emergency service vehicles) should enter the village on SR 43 at Coral Rd. (Dorsey's Food Mart). Go down Coral Rd. to the parade route. Line up is based on order of arrival. Registration will take place after line up.
NOTE: Do not schedule drop offs along route, the road will be closed.
Fire and emergency equipment should enter the village on SR 43 and turn onto Carrollton St. Turn left on Grant St. and follow the signs. Registration will take place after line up. Line up begins at 4:30 p.m. There is no guarantee of registration for anyone not in line by 5:45 p.m.
Awards will be presented at 8 p.m. for the judges' choice and best appearing in the following categories: Antique Vehicle (first, second & third), Float (first & second), Tractor (first & second), Band, Marching unit, Wrecker, Squad, Ladder, Pumper over 1000 GPM, Pumper under 1,000 GPM, Tanker, Grass Unit, Oldest unit in service and Privately owned and Longest distance traveled.
The entertainment is as follows: Thursday-music by DJ "Mixed Up" 6-11 p.m. and $1,500 of free door prizes; Friday-Freddie the Frog's $50 Karaoke Contest 6-11 p.m.; Saturday-the band 45 RPM will play from 6:30-11 p.m.; Sunday-Car Show from 2-6 p.m. Registration is from 1-3 p.m. Doug James of K-105 will be on hand from 2-6 p.m. with free door prizes.
Rides are open Wednesday through Friday 5-10 p.m., Saturday-noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday-noon to 6 p.m. A children's matinee will run from 12-5 p.m. Saturday and 12-6 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, call 330-863-1515. |
