Civic Club ready to cook

FPS staff report

Carrollton Civic ClubThe Carrollton Civic Club's grill is undergoing some minor repairs and having a new roof installed and will soon be ready for use.

Club officials said the grill can be rented (complete with Civic Club grillers) for a variety of events, such as graduation parties, class reunions, wedding receptions, holiday parties, etc. The Civic Club will be using the grill at the Carroll County Ribs Burn-off June 7 and at the Rally in the Alley July 11.

The grill was crafted by employees of JoMac of Carrollton about 10 years ago. The company is also completing the minor repairs and installing a custom roof.

The Civic Club uses proceeds from rental of the grill for the group's many community projects, some of which include college scholarships, meals for shut-ins at Thanksgiving, Christmas presents for needy families and free swim days for children in the community.

For additional information on rental fees, contact Chris Jones at 330-627-2525 or Brad Wheeler at 330-627-0520.

Civic Club members and JoMac officials are shown above with the grill. Standing in front from left are: Rich Jones, JoMac owner, and Bill Miller, company employee. Civic Club members standing on the grill include (from left): Brad Wheeler, Dennis Roudebush, Chris Jones and Lynn Poplin.
