FPS staff report
December 9. 2008
The American Caner Society (ACS) and Boyd’s Bears are once again teaming up to offer the 2009 Bear and A Bunch in conjunction with the ACS’s Daffodil Days.
This year’s bear, a limited edition named Carrie N. Hope, features a denim shopping bag filled with daffodils, which are the symbol of hope for the Cancer Society. One of the bear’s feet is embroidered with the Daddofil Days Logo and the other carries the American Cancer Society logo.
Carroll County Relay for Life teams will be accepting orders for the bears. Cost is $25 for a bear and a bunch of 10 daffodils. Daffodils can be ordered by the bunch (consists fof 10 cut daffodils) for a $10 donation.
An initial order of bears will be submitted Jan. 18. A late order will be mailed Feb. 18. ACS officials suggest bears be ordered by the January deadline to assure delivery because of the limited number of bears available.
Orders and checks, made payable to the American Cancer Society, can be dropped off at The Free Press Standard office, 43 E. Main St., Carrollton. Orders can also be placed by calling Carol McIntire at the FPS, or any Carroll County Relay for Life team captain. All bears must be paid for when ordered.
Bears will be delivered during Daffodil Days, March 19 and 20. Bears and bunches can be picked up those two days between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Bud’s Flowers, located at 69 N. Lisbon St., Carrollton.
The Carroll County Relay for Life is scheduled for June 19-20 at the Carroll County Fairgrounds located on Kensington Rd. |
