Sherry’s Book Corner

Hi kids!  I know many of you are back in school already so...I hope you have a great school year!  When I came across this book I found it to be very interesting.  The author of this book took sayings many of us have heard in our past and explains them in full detail.

For instance the saying “Stick together!” When your teacher says “stick together” she wants you to stay close to another so no one gets lost or left behind.  Or you may have heard “Two heads are better than one.”  Often when you ask someone to help, you can work it out together.

I thought this would be a fun read, but it is also very useful because it gives plenty of facts about the sayings and how they came to be.  Who knows, some of this information may come in handy for a book report or two!

Until next time, remember, we are never too young or old to learn.
Your friend,
Sherry

Fun illustrations bring to life a child’s visual idea of such sayings as “Smart as a Whip” or “Put on your Thinking Cap.”
“My Teacher Likes to Say” is a very powerful tool!
