Unseasonably warm weather led people to line the parade route Saturday for the annual Carrollton Christmas Parade.
A total of 80 entries offered candy, hot dogs and holiday cheer before the highlight of the parade, the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus.
The theme of the 2009 parade was “Come Share the Joy of Christmas.” Winners included: Girl Scouts of North East Ohio, Best walking group; Church of Christ (Christian), Best non-profit float; Ace Hardware, Best business float; Gary Mardis’ 1950 Farmall Cub, a white demo model only made three months, Best antique tractor; Carroll County VFD, Inc.’s 2006 Rosenbauer 1250 GPM Pumper/Rescue truck, Best fire truck; Bob George driving the Park District’s covered wagon, Best horse unit; and Toys for Tots, Judge’s choice.
Judges for the parade were Jeff Tipton, Tammy Ohler and Don Rutledge. |
