Animal Protection League plans Oct. 20 banquet

FPS staff report

The Carroll County Animal Protection League (CCAPL) is inviting the public to a Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction Oct. 20, at Minerva Community Center, 123 Brock Ave. Minerva. 

Doors open at 4:45 p.m.  A buffet dinner catered by Old Carolina Barbecue will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by a silent auction for items from area merchants.  John Weber and his K-9 from the State Fire Marshall’s office will be the guest speaker. 

Adult tickets are $20 each, children aged 5 to 12, $10, and under age 5 are free.  All proceeds will benefit the construction of a shelter in Carroll County for domestic animals.

Send a check to CCAPL, PO Box 353, Carrollton, OH 44615.  Be sure to mark the memo section of your check “BD/SA.”  The deadline to submit payment for tickets is Oct. 13.

The League’s next monthly meeting is Thursday, Oct. 4, at 6:30 p.m. in the Friendship Center, located at the Carroll County Fairgrounds, 100 Kensington Rd. NE, Carrollton.  An update about design plans for the shelter as well as other news will be discussed.
