The 39th annual Algonquin Mill Festival is fast approaching!
The festival will be held Oct. 9-11 at the Mill Farm complex located four miles south of Carrollton on SR 332. Sauerkraut, made fresh on the mills grounds, will be featured in the dining hall. The meal will include pork roast, mashed potatoes, green beans, roll and butter and banana or chocolate pudding. According to volunteer David George, 50 volunteers worked two days to process seven ton of sauerkraut. A total of 1,500 dozen cookies have been baked in anticipation of the Mill Festival.
The farm is owned by the Carroll County Historical Society (CCHS) and is supported by the proceeds of this event. Volunteers work year-round to maintain several log homes, schoolhouse, flour mill and acres of grounds.
Festival hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Admission to the festival is free with an $8 per vehicle parking fee. Primitive camping is available at $15 per night. For more information about the festival call 877-727-0103 or visit www.carrollcountyohio.com. |
