FPS staff report

The 38th annual Algonquin Mill Festival is scheduled for Oct. 10-12 at the Mill Farm four miles south of Carrollton on SR 332.

The Country Store, located in the lower level of the barn, will offer sweatshirts, Mill gift boxes and bluebird nesting boxes for sale.  Numerous crafters will have their wares on display and give demonstrations during the festival.

Musical entertainment includes high school bands and choirs on Friday; country, bluegrass bands, gospel music and cloggers on Saturdady and Sunday.  A fiddle and banjo “hootenanny” will take place at 2:30 p.m. Sunday on the main stage.

Festival hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.  Admission is $8 per vehicle. Primitive camping is available at $15 per night.  The McCook House Civil War Museum is open during festival hours. Donations are accepted.  For more information, call 877-727-0103.
