Dancing on the Bridge 2009, a downtown Malvern car show and street festival has been scheduled for Sept. 12, according to Susan Joyce, chairman of the event.

Fourteen committees are being formed to plan the event and the following committee chairmen have been named:  Site Committee, Carol Brawley and Jim Chase; Car Show, Jack Leggett; Vendors and food, Shirley Columbo; Parking, Alan Artzner; Security, Mike McCort; Publicity, Susan Joyce; Basket Raffle, Tammy Leach; Supporters, Alan Artzner; Children’s Activities, Eunice Thompson and Ellen Finnicum; Entertainment, Alan Artzner and Shirley Columbo.

Chairmen are still needed for the Decorations, Patrons and Sponsors, Patron Party and Acknowledgement committees and volunteers are needed to work on all committees.  Anyone interested in helping is urged to call Susan Joyce at 330.875.3994 or 330.323.3224.

The proceeds from this year’s event will be used to purchase new long-lasting flower containers for Downtown Malvern.

Last year’s proceeds supported entrance signs for the Village and park benches for the Malvern Park
