Minerva Brick St. festival seeking vendors

FPS staff report

Crafters, artists, food vendors, and community groups are sought for the 2013 Brick Street Jazz Festival to be held on Minerva’s N. Market St., May 11.

The festival will feature professional jazz bands - the John Trapani Big Band, New Orleans Funk Orchestra, and Swing Machine Live - as well as the Minerva High School Jazz Band and other area high-school bands.

Also offered will be food, artist demonstrations, free children’s games, make-and-take art projects, and music activities.

Spaces for the street fair, which will run 1-7:30 p.m., are $30 each, and are first-come, first-served. The festival will be held rain or shine.

The festival is a collaborative effort of Minerva Local School District’s Instrumental Music and Art departments, 20/20 Vision Minerva task force, Minerva Band Boosters, and Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce.

Businesses, organizations or individuals who are interested in sponsoring the festival may contribute at the brass - $50, bronze - $100, silver - $250, gold - $500, or platinum - $1,000 levels. For more information on sponsorships, contact Freeland.
