The Area Agency on Aging, Region 9, is offering five sessions in March targeting caregivers who are caring for relatives, friends and/or neighbors.
The sessions are free and open to the public but registration is required to attend. Sessions will feature resources and information. Caregivers may attend as many or as few as they choose.
Sessions will be from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Carrollton Senior Friendship Center, 100 Kensington Rd., Carrollton.
Workshops include:
Caregiving in the Home...Now What?, March 7; Bringing Services into the Home, March 14; Moving, Lifting and Transferring, March 21; and Stress and Burnout in Caregiving, March 28. An additional session “Living with Alzheimer’s...What Every Caregiver Should Know” will be held April 4 from 6-8 p.m. at the Friendship Center. Nurses and social workers attending the March sessions will receive one continuing education unit. Those attending the Alzheimer’s workshop will receive two units.
