The Carroll Aspiring Stage Theatrics, Inc. (CAST) has created a CAST Youth Advisory Board.
After careful selection from nominated youth members of the CAST, several individuals were selected to serve on the new CAST Youth Advisory Board (YAB). They include: Gabby Irwin, Abby and Tess Kiko, Jaylin, Jara, and Janna Chadwell, Isaiah and Celia Meek, Malcolm Simmons, and Brittany Boord.
These teens, aged 11 to 16, will serve the CAST community theater over the next year while learning many behind the scenes tasks. They will learn skills necessary to conduct official board meetings, manage board positions, and handle production events and activities. Their project of the year will require assistance from the public. They have decided to create a Christmas village, “Claus Country”, within their practice venue. This event will be free of charge to the community. The board will need many donated items including: artificial Christmas trees, ornaments, decorations, stockings, wreaths, lights, etc.
Anyone wishing to donate items or make a financial donation to the 501c3 not for profit organization contact The CAST by email at thecast07@ gmail.com, on Facebook, by phone 330-627-2091, or by mail at PO Box 512, Carrollton, OH 44615.
The CAST will hold auditions for their next production, “And Then There Were None,” based on the novel by Agatha Christie, “Ten Little Indians”. Auditions are scheduled Jan. 21 and 23 at 6:30 p.m. for those age 11-19. Cold readings will be held in the CAST practice rooms on Moody Ave. in Carrollton (in the old school next to the YMCA big gym).
Practices will begin Jan. 28 with production dates of March 28 and 29. All auditioning must be available for Tuesday and Thursday evening practices.
