If you enjoy scrapbooking and good company, you need to mark your calendar!
Scrapbooking sessions are planned for Sept. 11 and Oct. 9 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at The Ashton House Museum. Hosted by Kelly Stutzman (left) and Stephanie Shafer (right), participants can bring their materials, pictures, paper, tools, etc. and enjoy a night of fun. Miscellaneous tools will be available for use.
Snacks will be provided. Grab bags, provided by Ashton’s 5 & 10 Store, will be given away every half hour. Cost is $3.
The Ashton House Museum is located at 120 3rd St. NW, Carrollton. Established in 2005, and opened to the public in Oct. 1, 2008, the Ashton House Museum is a collection of memorabilia from the late John and Evelyn Ashton who were pillars in the Carrollton community. The museum is open April-December Wednesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m. Special tours can be scheduled on Monday, Tuesday and any evening by calling 330-627-2682. Admission is $3; ages 4-12, $2 and under age 3 free.
Ashton’s 5 & 10 Store is located at 60 West Main St., Carrollton. The store was opened by the late John and Evelyn Ashton in December 1932 and has the original “squeaky floors,” old fashioned candy, craft items, scrapbooking items and a large selection of stationary, specialty merchandise and much more.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 3 p.m. |
