‘Our Gang’ at it again creating 8th quilt

FPS staff report

Our Gang quiltButterflies and flowers in orange and yellow adorn the quilt the Relay for Life Team “Our Gang” will raffle off this year.

This is the eighth quilt the group has made to benefit the Carroll County Relay for Life.  The 24 squares were purchased at Browse N Buy and the “gang” put it together over the winter.  This year they are also offering two matching pillows made from four left over squares to accompany the queen size quilt.  Shirlee Berry of Carrollton machine quilted the finished product and donated the quilting, backing and batting.

The quilt will be on display May 29 at Key Bank and at various other locations in the area.  Tickets are $1 each or 6/$5.  Tickets can be purchased by calling Lenora Devitt at 330-627-1004 or from any member of Our Gang Relay for Life Team.

The Carroll County Relay for Life will be held June 19 and 20. The winner will be drawn then.

Members shown in the above photo with the quilt and pillows are (from left):  Shirley Welty, Velma Beckley, Edna Sperry, Lenora Devitt and Irene Johnson.
