The yard of Laurie and Chris Shepherd of 749 Windamere Dr., SW., Carrollton,(shown above) is decorated for Easter.
The Shepherds love to decorate for all holidays and according to Laurie, in a big way. Trees of all shapes and sizes can be found throughout the house during various holidays.
“My mom, Betty (Dale) Matics of Amsterdam is 74 years old. She still colors eggs and makes us kids Easter baskets,” explained Laurie. “We will always be ‘kids’ in her eyes.” Laurie is keeping the tradition going with her son, Ryan, 11, a 5th grade student at Carrollton Elementary School.
The Shepherds have been decorating their yard and home for five years and love to see the expressions on the children’s faces on the bus when they see the displays. “I think is important to keep a little of the child like qualities in your life,” noted Laurie. “Time goes so fast. It’s good to have fun.” |
